Post 2 of 3 - Lapland Trip

Here is the second of the three posts that I will do today. In this post I will show you my pictures from my Lapland trip. It was a 6 day trip, and it was a 15 hour bus ride to get there from Lahti. We drove overnight, so I was pretty tired when we got there. Our first 2 stops are not actually considered part of Lapland because they are just south of the Arctic Circle.

Our first stop was in Kemi to visit the snow castle there. It was such a beautiful snow castle with lots of ice and snow sculptures inside. Below are pictures from that.

The figures on each side of the stage are Moomin figures, which is a very popular Finnish children's cartoon that was made in the 1980's and 1990's and you can find Moomin merchandise all over Finland.

This is the entrance to one of the bedrooms, brrrr!!!!
The bedroom. It had real mattresses and fur blankets with sheets, I think they really use it!
Lots of bedrooms down one of the halls!
This looked like the master bedroom to me!
Me on one of the beds.
This was the church in the ice castle.

You could buy food, drinks, and hot beverages here, Batman and Robin are on either side of the bar gaurding it!

We then went to the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi next, it is located right at the arctic circle.

Canada's box at santa's village, not too much stuff for some reason? Finnish language does not use 'C', so they spell Canada with a 'K'.
